Sustainability at Scentered
Scentered founder, Lara Morgan is a true pioneer of sustainability. A resilient businesswoman, Lara had spent many years in the global hospitality industry when she experienced what could be described as a near biblical enlightening. As the world became more aware of the immense damage that plastics and non recycled materials were doing to our world and oceans, Lara experienced a deep sense of personal responsibility from being part of an industry that had played such a huge role in the use of unsustainable bottles and packaging.
So, she promised herself there and then that she would reset the equilibrium and do everything she could to counteract every unsustainable decision she’d ever made in her life. Imagine if we all did that! And she’s sticking to that promise with all her heart. That’s why sustainability, repurposing and recycling is at the very core of every decision that’s made by the Scentered team. It’s not a maybe, it’s a must.
How To Repurpose Scentered Packaging
Our attractive glass candle holders can easily be recycled and repurposed. When your candle has finished, simply pop the glass jar into the freezer overnight. In the morning, take it out and turn it upside down, giving it a little shake or bang to dislodge the remaining wax. It should easily slip out and now you can give the glass jar a wash. Hey presto its ready for its next life!

Here’s 10 ideas on how to repurpose our candle holders to help you get started...
Tidy up your desk or office by recycling your glass candle jar or carboard candle packaging as a pencil pot or to store staples, paper clips, erasers, and pencil sharpeners.
Seriously, your friends will be envious when they see the level of organisation in your vanity area. Use our candle holders for storing skincare essentials, like cotton wool, cotton buds or even your make-up brushes. If you’ve got more than one candle jar to repurpose, even better!
Do you love art? Time to get really creative then. Your old candle glass jar is just perfect for storing paint brushes in. You can even fill the empty jar with water and use it to clean your paint brushes in between colours!
Why spend money on expensive jewellery boxes when you can simply pop jewellery and keepsakes in one of these? A great idea is to have one for rings, one for earrings, one for brooches and one for bangles.
It’s the eternal question of what to do with that annoying change that always seems to be rattling around? It appears under sofas, under the fridge and under the bed, but it’s never where you want it, when you want it! Now you can store it all in one place. There’ll be no more rooting through your purse next time you need some car park change.
Now that’s a novel idea. Why didn’t someone think of that before? Of course, you can always pop a tealight or another candle into your glass jar to repurpose it.
You don’t need to leave toothbrushes on the side or curse about knocking them off the sink anymore. Use your candle packaging as a toothpaste and toothbrush holder and add a bit of glamour to your bathroom.
The glass candle jar is the perfect size for a miniature house plant or if you prefer, go the easy route, and use it to house a fake plant.
You only have to look on Pinterest to see how stylish a glass candle holder looks filled with shells or pebbles. You can colour co-ordinate or go for earthy, naturals. A great addition to the bathroom, living room or anywhere else in that case.
Hell yeah, these nifty candle holders can even be made use of in the garage. Ideal to tidy nails, tacks, and screwdrivers. The fact that they’re see-through makes it so much easier for storage too.
