Creating your daily ritual

What’s the first thing you do in the morning and the last thing you do at night? Take a moment to reflect.

What’s the first thing you do when you get to work, when you sit in your car and when you arrive home from work?

Do any of these tasks consist of a ritual in some way or form? It might be that just before you go to sleep you brush your teeth, drink some water and apply your favourite moisturiser. How does it make you feel whilst completing these tasks and why do you do them?

Daily rituals allow us to move from one thought or a feeling, to another, in order to get a desired outcome. Many rituals will involve an object, words or a gesture which help complete the ritual. Scentered’s Stop. Inhale. Reset ritual, involves scent. By applying a Scentered balm or lighting a candle, scent can act as a mental trigger to transition to your desired mind state from one to another.

Try following our wellbeing ritual throughout your busy day, no matter where you might be. Our wellbeing ritual is about taking mindful moments for yourself. Ask yourself how you’re feeling and how you’d like to feel in the next moment.

Choose your favourite Scentered balm and follow these three simple steps:

How to apply our balms

  • Stop - Apply a balm directly to your wrist, neck and temples or light a Scentered candle to purposefully fill the room with mindful meaning.

  • Inhale – Raise your wrists or candle to your nose and deeply inhale, visualizing the mind state you wish to achieve in this moment.

  • Reset – Exhale deeply as you step into the next moment of your daily journey

As the essential oils are absorbed into your skin and the aroma gently fades away, you can repeat the ritual throughout your daily journey, navigating between our six unique blends to support your mindful transitions.

The power of scent doesn’t just have to remain a personal experience. Our candles can be used to either create a personalised ambience or offer friends and family a shared sensory experience designed to produce a specific mindstate on demand.  For example, one might use our Be Happy balm as a signature scent whilst doing activities they enjoy, and then later light a Be Happy candle when friends and family are visiting to create an ambience of shared joy.

How are you feeling today?
